Calling all employment and education professionals looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of care experienced young people!
We are currently recruiting a 12-month fixed term full time Education, Training and Employment (ETE) Advisor within the Active Involvement Team to work with care experienced young people. We support 270 young people aged 18 plus who are cared for by the London Borough of Bromley. We have a dedicated Leaving Care Service with incredible Young Persons Advisors who support our young people to lead stable and successful independent lives. As part of our offer, we also have an Active Involvement Team with skilled workers whose primary goal is to create opportunities where our young people feel a sense of belonging and develop the necessary independent skills to successfully transition to adulthood. This team offers a variety of groupwork opportunities, including support with finance, housing, education, training and employment.
About the role
This role is an addition to our existing ETE offer and will work alongside another ETE Advisor to have an overview of our young people who are not in education, training or employment. Both posts will work in partnership with the Leaving Care Team to support a successful transition into ETE.
We are looking for a skilled professional with experience in supporting young adults to re-engage with education, training or employment. You will be passionate and driven to deliver the best possible service to our care experienced young people using a trauma informed approach in all areas of your work. This role works directly with young people both on a one-to-one basis and in groups. As one of 2 ETE Advisors, you will chair intervention meetings with young people and their Young Persons Advisors. You will also support the delivery of our Aspire, Inspire and Motivate (AIM) programme which includes contributing to our annual careers event and building relationships with local businesses to support work experience, training and employment opportunities. Occasionally you will also deliver presentations to colleagues and the wider partnership network.
This role entails regular liaison with external and internal partner agencies and extremely proficient organisation and interpersonal skills.
You will be expected to work to a high professional standard whilst building trusting relationships with young people and colleagues.
Please note, the post entails occasional travel to placements and some limited evening work when required in line with the service.
If you are passionate about making a difference by supporting care experienced young people on their ETE journey and meet the above criteria, we encourage you to apply for this opportunity.
Closing Date: 12th May 2025
Interviews will commence on the 20th & 21st May 2025.
