Established for over 20 years, Bromley Education Business Partnership (part of the LBB Youth Services) has a proven track record of successfully brokering relationships between employers/schools/colleges to deliver employment and learning opportunities to support young people.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Programme Lead – Work Experience to join our small, busy and effective team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- leading on the safeguarding of young people involved in work related learning programmes, with a focus on work experience
- taking responsibility for all aspects of a work experience service offered to schools/colleges and other agencies within LBB
- managing the workload of a small team of ‘casual hours’ staff
- managing the delivery of the Council’s annual work experience scheme for young people residing or those schooled in Bromley
- working with key professionals to help support the LBB NEET strategy by working with young people and supporting their access to work related learning and through the job seeking process.
To successfully fulfil this demanding role, you will need to have:
- significant evidence of managing work experience placement schemes
- experience recruiting and briefing employers, especially in work related learning/work experience opportunities
- experience organising training and meetings
- the ability to help assist young people to cope with challenging personal circumstances.
The post will be for 36 hours a week, over 41 weeks a year in line with schools’ academic year. There is a degree of flexibility within this for the right candidate. The contract is initially for 12 months with the possibility of extending.
The successful candidate needs to be educated to a high level and have experience of working in a work experience role. You will need excellent skills in developing and sustaining relationships with schools, employers and young people. You will also need to be emotionally robust and able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
You will be based in our offices at 8 Masons Hill, Bromley BR2 9EY and expected to work in the office a minimum of three days per week.
