Are you ready to deliver the employer engagement element of an ambitious new Connect to Work (C2W) supported employment programme for Bromley helping residents with disabilities or health conditions into work and transform their lives?

 

If so, we want you to join our team as an Employer Engagement Officer.
 
About the Role
As an Employment Engagement Officer within Bromley’s Connect to Work supported employment team (delivered under the new Bromley Works service), you will establish and maintain strong relationships with local employers to expand inclusive job opportunities for Bromley residents with disabilities, physical/mental health conditions and other barriers to work. You will promote inclusive hiring practices, provide advice on workplace adjustments, and work closely with Employment Specialists to ensure effective job matching and a smooth transition into the workplace. You will also deliver ongoing support to employers and employees, carry out labour market research, and contribute to programme outcomes in line with the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) and/or Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) fidelity standards.

 

Key Responsibilities
Directly reporting to, and working closely with, the C2W Programme Lead, you will:
  • Proactively identify and recruit appropriate employers, expanding local job opportunities for residents with barriers to work.
  • Build and maintain strong employer partnerships, acting as the key liaison to ensure successful job matching with Employment Specialists.
  • Promote inclusive hiring practices, educating employers on workplace adjustments and the benefits of employing individuals with disabilities or health conditions.
  • Support both employers and employees post-placement, addressing workplace challenges to ensure sustainable employment.
  • Monitor outcomes and maintain accurate records, ensuring delivery in line with IPS and/or SEQF fidelity standards and programme compliance.
  • Conduct labour market research, attend networking events, and collaborate with internal and external partners to maximise employment opportunities

 

About You
You will be a proactive and results-driven professional with a strong background in employer engagement and employability support. You will have:
  • Proven experience in building partnerships with employers, business networks, and industry groups to create sustainable job opportunities.
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills, with the ability to promote inclusive hiring practices and advise on workplace adjustments.
  • Experience supporting individuals with barriers to employment, including disabilities or health conditions, through recruitment, placement, and in-work support.
  • Good knowledge of local labour market trends, supported employment models (IPS/SEQF), and employment legislation including the Equality Act 2010.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple employer relationships and track employment outcomes effectively
