Hours: 8.00am start, 37.5 hours a week, term time only (39 weeks per year).

We may be willing to consider part time hours for the right candidate.

 

Salary: £22,665 Pro rata (£26,2367 FTE)

 

Newstead Wood School is a high-achieving grammar school for girls with a mixed Sixth Form. We are seeking to appoint an experienced, organised and enthusiastic Administrator to assist the main school office in a wide range of duties by providing high quality administration support.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication, administration and interpersonal skills with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the ever-changing needs of both students and the school. They will be able to work on their own initiative and as part of the wider team. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Word and Excel is essential; experience of using Arbor (our MIS) and of working within a similar role is desirable. You need to have the ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines; to demonstrate a strong attention to detail, whilst always maintaining a high level of confidentiality.

Main Areas of Responsibility

•      To assist with the answering of office telephone calls and emails, receiving enquiries from staff, students, parents,    tradesmen and members of general public

•      To provide support to the Educational Visits Co-Ordinator and Careers Lead in arranging trip, visits and events.

•      Assist with maintenance of student filing and archiving system to receive enquiries from staff, students, parents, tradesmen and members of general public

•      Co-ordinate and provide refreshments and hospitality as required for school events and visitors to the school  

•      To assist with provision of curriculum administrative support for academic staff

•      To cover reception duties when necessary

•      To assist with incoming and external post 

•      To administer first aid as and when required

•      Assist with ordering supplies including stationary and medical
