The London Borough of Bromley is looking for an experienced and motivated Principal Lawyer to lead our Children and Adults legal team. Your Role:

- Lead and manage a specialist legal team focused on Children’s & Adults social care law.
- Provide expert legal advice on complex and high-profile cases to senior leaders, Committees, and elected members.
- Shape policy and practice within your team and Legal Services, ensuring effective service delivery through performance management and strategic oversight.
- Support the Council’s commitment to modernisation, including digital transformation initiatives.
- Represent Legal Services at a senior level and deputise for the Director and Assistant Director when required.

About You:

We are looking for a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FILEX with a current practising certificate, who has:
- Proven experience in managing legal teams and delivering high-quality legal services.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- A commitment to continuous improvement, inclusivity, and collaborative working.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly and effectively.
