The London Borough of Bromley is looking for a Head of Service to lead and manage the teams within Access to Education and to contribute to strategic leadership as a member of the Education Department Senior Leadership Team.

 

This is an exciting time to be taking on this key role, with responsibility for implementing a change programme, following a comprehensive external review of alternative provision and support for social, emotional and mental health needs. Working with schools and other key partners, you will ensure that we have high quality, sustainable services and early support for those at risk of exclusion or missing education.

 

You will be a strategic leader with a proven track record in the education sector.  You will have a passion for championing equitable access to education for vulnerable children and young people and have an unrelenting focus on improving outcomes for all children and young people.

 

You will have effective interpersonal skills to engage with, support and challenge a wide range of stakeholders across education, our partners and commissioned services.

 

You will provide strong management and leadership, to motivate and develop staff teams in making a difference, promoting effective practice, conveying clear and consistent messages to parents and professional partners, including schools and settings.

 

Your strong leadership skills will develop and deliver strategies and working practices that promote Bromley’s shared vision of ‘inclusion’, ensuring that Bromley children and young people can access and remain in provision appropriate to their needs.
